What Makes Us Unique

The Cascadilla School, founded in 1876 as a preparatory school for Cornell University, is an independent co-educational, not-for-profit high school. The school offers students an accelerated curriculum in grades eight through twelve as well as in a post-graduate year. The Cascadilla School is recognized and accredited by the New York State Department of Education and has maintained its historical association with Cornell University through the extensive use of its libraries, dining halls, and other faculties. Students from our local region and countries all over the world are guided by an expert faculty on our campus in the small college town of Ithaca, located in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of Central New York. Our graduates matriculate at leading colleges and universities throughout the United States.

Accelerated Program

In Cascadilla's Accelerated Program, each semester gives students the opportunity to earn credits equivalent to one full year of high school coursework.

The Cascadilla School's advanced seminar in history and literature gives graduates necessary skills in reading, reasoning, argumentation, and hands-on academic research that will ensure success in college and beyond.
Cornell University Courses

Interested students have the opportunity to take classes at Cornell University as well as Ithaca College and Tompkins Cortland Community College.
